“The least of the work of learning is done in the classroom.”
-Thomas Merton

ideametrics is committed to working with users to educate them when an issue arises rather than just resolving the issue quickly without involving the user.

This approach requires much more time and more patience form the consultant. It also demands a consultant who is not just a “techie” but who understands the learning process and enjoys interacting and teaching others.

This is very different from the norm. Most Oracle consultants are focused on just solving their particular issue and don’t want to stop to educate a particular user. In addition they also tend not to communicate well especially to users who may have limited technical knowledge. This kind of approach usually results in users making the same mistake over and over again. They end being unhappy with the process and prefer not to interact with outside Oracle consultants and trainers.

The ideametrics approach of spending some extra time to involve the user in the process has the exact opposite effect. Users have a high degree of job satisfaction and are more efficient at their work. Since they are now able to solve more problems on their own, the cost to our clients is much lower. Most important of all, they view our Oracle consultants as teachers, are eager to show them that they understand and want to learn more.
